A global community for senior executives from FMCG manufacturing companies. The FMCG Institute is a place for open discussion between peers, sharing best practices from around the world, and challenging entrenched ways of thinking.

Our story

The FMCG Institute is a Childs Davidson global initiative. Childs Davidson Limited (CDL) is a specialist FMCG consulting firm with a global client base and with over 25 years’ experience as functional experts in commercial strategy, methods and organisation: brand and category strategy, NPD, customer engagement strategy, trading strategy and field sale-force effectiveness. CDL’s international expansion was through best practice benchmarking in over 30 markets, advising a who’s-who of the world’s FMCG manufacturers. Through this work, CDL developed a deep knowledge of the industry.

For the past 20 years Childs Davidson has run a series of regular senior executive forums in multiple markets around the world (UK, Australia, NZ, South Africa, the Middle East) as well as at global level in the US and in Europe with around 120 member organisations internationally.

In 2017 these forums were brought together to form the basis of the FMCG Institute, with a renewed vision not only to serve the markets in which they operate, but to build an international network of peers, where best practice could be shared, where emerging challenges could be anticipated, and where entrenched thinking could be challenged.

Our mission

Our mission is to assist FMCG manufacturers to anticipate and adapt in a fast-changing world.

Our industry has a vast amount of fragmented knowledge and experience. The FMCG Institute aims to facilitate sharing of this knowledge with a range of strategies that help our members understand emerging challenges and turn them into opportunities that make them stronger and more successful.
